French Christmas Resource Round-up!
It is almost time to prepare for the Holiday season. As Christmas approaches, and student excitement levels rise, I want to share with you some great FREE internet resources that are available for older FSL learners (grades 4-8). Enjoy!
Available with French or English text, the virtual museum has short texts and photographs which portray French Christmas traditions in Canada and France through history to present.
Online flashcards, quiz and spelling games for French Christmas vocabulary.
A complete unit of study for the holidays. Geared towards students in grades 1-3 (but can be differentiated for older students) the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education has made this unit available for Free at the link above.
Have your students write letters to Santa this holiday season. Canada Post will send you a class poster with all of your students’ names as well as a small gift before the holiday break. There are a variety of letters templates available to download for students of all ages. Letters must be mailed by December 6th!

Suitable for grades 4 and up, there are many options for this assignment including writing a persuasive paragraph and/or a descriptive paragraph. Each is set out in an easy-to-follow format complete with graphic organizers.

This file contains 3 escape-style challenges that are perfect for French-language learners. Focusing on French listening, reading and vocabulary activities, these games would work well for students in grades 4-8. The games can be played individually or together as a longer game (duration approximately 1 hour).
